After 38 years of service in the Barbados Fisheries Division and the fishing industry, Fisheries Biologist Colvin Taylor is now happily retired. Known by many affectionately as Colly the Fisherfolk Whisperer, he had the ability to make easy connections with people, especially the fisherfolk he worked alongside.
Colvin was instrumental in much of the fisheries research that took place in Barbados over the years, including studies on the queen conch, the snapper fishery, and aquaculture. Now, after many years of hard work, he gets to spend even more time doing sea-related activities, as that is where his heart will always lie.
With that, we would like to commend Colvin for his dedication and hard work to the industry, and we wish him all the best in his retirement!
