A five member high-level delegation of fisheries stakeholders from Saint Lucia visited Barbados during the week of 13-17 April 2026, to participate in a six-day peer learning visit focused on a pioneering fish silage initiative.
The mission aimed to provide the visitors with the blueprint to replicate a model that turns fish processing waste into high-value animal feed and bio-fertiliser. The delegation visited Shorelinez to learn more about the PRM bioprocessor being used to transform fish discards into a valuable product.
The delegation also visited the Bridgetown Fisheries Complex and the Fisheries Division HQ to discuss fisheries management strategies and legislative reform.

The delegation attended the 2026 Republic Bank Sir Charles Williams International Fishing Tournament at Port St. Charles where they engaged with stakeholders in the sportfishing community.
