"Celebrating and Empowering Fishers’ Contribution to Food Safety and Security!"
Get ready for a wave of excitement! This June, Barbados' fish landing sites will transform into a "hive of activity" for the 2026 Barbados Fisherfolk Festival (BARFISH).
This isn't just a celebration—it's an innovative, inclusive movement designed to champion the island's fishing industry and the vital message of marine sustainability.
What to Expect
BARFISH is set to immerse locals and visitors in the heart of the "Small Island" lifestyle. Expect a vibrant fusion of tradition and creativity, showcasing sustainable living through:
- The Arts: Film screenings, poetry, music, paintings, and dance.
- Style & Flavor: Cutting-edge fashion and world-class culinary experiences.
The Partnership
As a flagship initiative of the Barbados National Union of Fisherfolk Organisations (BARNUFO), the festival is being hosted in close collaboration with the Fisheries and Fish Markets Divisions. The Black Fin Fleet Co-operative Society Ltd has joined this year as our newest partner.
Mark your calendars! Join us this June to celebrate our heritage and protect our future.
