Following the passage of Hurricane Beryl, PACIFICO Risk Communications engaged fisherfolk across Barbados from different markets and landing sites in the discussion about locally driven community recovery plans. The most common impacts felt by those interviewed included income reductions, disruptions in market access and services, and the loss or damage of boats and gear.

Consequently, PACIFICO, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the Barbados Fisheries Division collaborated to host a Participatory Recovery Planning Workshop on the 22nd of January, 2026 in order to share the results of the surveys conducted and engage representatives from the different landing sites to discuss the next phase of work and priorities for recovery.
