The Barbados Fisheries Division (BFD), in an exclusive partnership with the world-renowned Ebony Anglers (EA), Barbados Game Fishing Association (BGFA), Innovators HQ, and Don Shark Aquatics are collaborating to host the highly anticipated Fishing FUNdamentals Junior Anglers Camp 2026.

This initiative is the Caribbean edition of the Ebony Anglers’ prestigious educational programs #BlackBoysBoat and #BlackGirlsFish. Our mission is to empower youth with life skills that promote self-sufficiency, physical and intellectual fortitude, and sound leadership values. On Friday, April 17, 2026, we are launching a high-energy, STEM-driven movement at Port St. Charles designed to turn 25-30 Barbadian children into the ocean leaders of tomorrow. We intend for this Camp to be a major training milestone towards hosting a Junior Anglers Tournament in 2027.

Deep Impact: Beyond the Shoreline

This is not just a day of recreation; it is a rigorous, multi-disciplinary experience.

Economic Literacy: We introduce youth to a sector that generates revenue through over 5,000 annual trips, foreign investment, and local employment.

The "Ocean-Ready" Pipeline: Through our partnership with Don Shark Aquatics, students undergo professional water safety and swim assessments—essential life skills for a climate-resilient workforce.

International Mentorship: Participants learn from the Ebony Anglers, an award-winning team of international role models who demonstrate excellence, sportsmanship, and the professionalization of the Blue Economy.

Environmental Stewardship: We teach sustainable "catch and release" ethics and reef conservation, ensuring these future leaders protect the resources they harvest.
