The Barbados Fisheries Division will once again have a presence at the annual Agrofest event, which this year is themed "Innovation Driving Profitable, Sustainable Agriculture” from February 27th-March 1st, 2026.

In light of the theme, the Division will have exhibitions from its Research and Development team which will help you identify commercially important fish species found in Barbados' waters and the habitats in which they live. Visitors can also have a fun and interactive time with the Seafood Safety and Quality Assurance team, where they will have a chance to learn about commercially-important fish species and how they are to be caught and handled to ensure the best quality of food reaches their plates.

In addition to the Division, visit our other partners under the same tent:

The Coral Reef Restoration Alliance (CORALL) and Export Barbados (Barbados Investment & Development Corporation) will showcase how they test for acidity in the ocean; a growing issue in the face of climate change.

Sustainable Caribbean will have a booth dedicated to the large marine mammals of Barbados. What species of dolphins, porpoises, and whales can be found locally?

Curious about aquaculture? Adams Aquafarm will be on-site along with their hydroponics demonstration unit to teach you the inner workings of the trade, as well as any other bubbling questions.

Of course, there will be much more to do, so make sure to stop by and experience our most interactive exhibition to date! We look forward to seeing you there.
