Frank B. Armstrong (Boat building)
Frank Bruce Armstrong was born on 10th October 1967. Frank is currently the Managing Director of Frank B. Armstrong Group of Companies, which started with the wholesale company opened by his Grandfather Frank B. Armstrong. A sports fisherman since his childhood, Frank joined the Barbados Game Fishing Association as a boy. He served as President of the BGFA for 10 years from the late 1990 to early 2000s.
Frank bought over the business and equipment of the local boat-building company DI Marine Ltd. and opened his own boat building company, Caribbean Boats Inc. in 2012. The company specializes in the construction of fiberglass boats from molds, and has built a number of the vessels currently in the commercial iceboat and longline fleets, as well as in the “Panga” type boats that can be used both for commercial and recreational fishing. The company has so far built 4 “Pangas” and at least 5 commercial vessels and has already exported one vessel to Grenada. Frank also owns and operates an iceboat and a longliner.
